The system is fully in Nodejs and ExpressJs. Here the main purpose of the system is to use the Socket.io to create a simple chat application. For the project purpose, EJS is used for making the chat box. This is just a simple chat application for assignment presentation. This is a mini project. Hope you will like and enjoy the project. Remember this is just a mini chatting application, so it does not use any kind of backend support.

About The System

The NodeJs Messaging Web Application is in Nodejs, express, and lightbox. Talking about its features, the user can simply add their nicknames and start a conversation in the chatroom. All the chatting is in the real-time as it provides chat messaging using socket.io. Here users can share messages, and share number of files easily.

To run this project, we recommend using modern browsers Google ChromeMozilla Firefox and NodeJS installed in your PC. This project with source code is free to download, use for educational purposes only. For the project demo, have a look at the video below.

How to run?

Go to project directory.

  1. Open terminal/command prompt
  2. npm install
  3. node app.js
  4. Now go to URL: http://127.0.0.1:3000/
