SWOT means Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. These are four factors that companies use to evaluate themselves and their business growth. Using these four factors, the development of a website that is currently happening or in the future can also be evaluated.

Strengths and weaknesses are internal factors that control the company. Opportunities and Threats are external factors or elements outside the control of the company. After SWOT analysis, you can discover the strengths and weaknesses of your website as well as opportunities and threats.

SWOT analysis begins with setting goals and objectives for the website. These goals and objectives should be real and measurable, such as increasing the profits by 10% in the coming year, increasing click-through rate by 15%, reducing shopping cart dropping rate to 5% etc. After determining the goals and objectives of your website, you can start with the steps below SWOT analysis.

Strengths

Strengths show the advantages and features related to your websites that are not available on the websites of your competitors. These features deliver competitive advantage, which helps your website maintain a competitive edge from competitors. Weaknesses

It shows the weaknesses or weaknesses of your website, due to which the ranking of your website is decreasing or not growing. To find out the flaws in your website, you can compare the features of your website to the features of your competitors’ websites. If any feature on your website is less than the feature of your competitor’s website then this feature is your weakness.

Opportunities

It reflects external elements or opportunities that can help you increase your website’s performance and popularity. This element is not in your control but if used properly, you can achieve your goal and purpose. Some external elements that can be a good opportunity for you, use new technology for better user experience, web 2.0 based on social networking, internet on mobile phones, online transactions, innovative marketing strategies etc.

Threats

It shows the external elements that prevent your website from achieving goals and objectives. These elements or factors are like a threat that is outside your control and if you ignore these elements then your website will not be able to advance. Some examples of such elements or threats are coming from new websites, software piracy (duplication), unfavorable government rules, fraudulent activities etc.
